Clean-in-place (CIP) washing is a method to clean interior surfaces of for example pipes, equipment and filters without disassembly.
CIP washing is base washing, whereby acid washing is carried out once a week. Also alternate wash, alternating base and acid wash are included in cleaning in place washing.
Detergents for CIP cleaning are:
- Highly alkaline or strongly acidic liquids / powders
- Chlorine
- Non-foaming
- Have good dirt carrying capacity
- Also suitable for direct cleaning
